Frequently Asked Questions

… And the answers!

+ Are you insured?

Absolutely. My business is fully insured with both public liability and professional indemnity insurance. This is necessary for peace of mind both for me, and my clients.

+ How do I book your services?

For wedding bookings, I require a 25% deposit and a signed contract before your booking is secure for your big day.

+ Why is Wedding Photography so expensive?

It's fair to say that on the face of it, Wedding Photography seems very expensive. In actuality this is due to the number of hours of work required (anything from 50-80 hours per wedding), and the experience and training required to take on a live wedding function with all of its moving parts, and the professional level equipment and software required to deliver great results when it comes to a day as fast-paced and unique as a wedding.

Whilst there are certainly 'cheap' wedding photographers out there, it is worth being aware of exactly what sort of service they are offering for the money - after all, you can't have a second go at capturing your special day, and the photos are one of the few things you actually get to keep after the fact.

+ Do my friends and family have to buy images from my wedding separately?

No. I believe we are living in an age where digital sharing is second nature. Once you have secured my services, any images I prepare and hand over to you can be shared amongst your friends and family. I retain the right to use images in my advertising, and the right to sell the images to publications.

+ How long does it take to get my photos back after the wedding?

Within 48 hours of your wedding you will receive a 'sneak peek' of around 10 images from your day for you to share with friends and family. I always aim to have the rest of the photographs fully processed within 6 weeks of your wedding date, but often I deliver my clients work ahead of this deadline. During busy periods this can of course take slightly longer, but if it does I always inform my clients well in advance of their wedding day.

+ We aren't big fans of having our photo taken, will this be a problem?

This question comes up more often than you might think. My style of photography is mainly candid - I don't pose my subjects for photos and simply take natural images as the events of the day unfold. When it comes to group shots and couple portraits, I keep posing to simple instructions. My clients comfort is at the heart of everything I do before, during and after the big day.

+ Are your wedding packages customisable?

They certainly are! Every wedding is a unique occasion, and I am always happy to discuss potential changes to the packages on offer so that my service can better suit your wedding day.

+ Do we get to meet you before we book?

I always offer a free consultation to discuss your requirements before booking. It's only fair, after all, that we meet to make sure that I am a good fit for you and your wedding. Whoever does capture your wedding photos will be close at hand all the time throughout one of the most special days of your life - it's always helpful if they are also a nice person!
